TOSTOES, Ana. Modernidade Africana: É preciso vir ao fim do mundo para descobrir as coisas mais actuais e extraordinárias. AUS (Valdivia), 2015, no.17, p.4-10. ISSN 0718-7262.
Angola and Mozambique, vast territories in Sub-Saharan Africa, witnessed considerable development since the end of World War Two and the democratic revolution that transformed Portugal on April 25, 1974, which finally led to the Independence of both countries the following year. This trend wagered in development took place in a belated colonial bolstering process devised under the political context of the New State (Estado Novo). This work deals with architecture production built in the cities of Angola and Mozambique, projected and built as from the 50's. An aspect which stands out is the modernity of architecture, urban and social programs, as well as the formal and technological research that sustains them.
