This Project is a line, a road, a public space. It aims at recovering one of the city's historic layouts, focusing on the north district of Eindhoven (Netherlands). During the 60's and 70's, modern architects Van den Broek & Bakema removed existing routes imposing their own road network, mainly for automobiles. This project intends to recover one of those roads for pedestrians and bicycles, conditioned for cars, but as the place where citizens currently travel. The project is based on preserving the memory of this place and of the consolidated built surroundings. Recovering these roads provides dynamism and identity to the district, especially if they are for slow traffic. The line (road) covers four kilometers and adapts to the different urban milestones and casuistic found in the way. It makes a conversion by means of fractal architecture: the street as a public space, urban bridges/footbridges and small complementary elements.
Palabras Clave: recovery; historic layouts; fractal architecture; landscape.
