This research analyses the postmodern organizations, the theoretical frame is based mainly on the flexible organizations, focusing on the contributions by Chandler, Ouchi, Heydebrand, Clegg, Mintzberg and Pries. Based on a contribution that describes the elements of these new organizations, the characteristics of postmodern and a combination of both approaches (modern-postmodern), which are present in the tourism organizations were defined; also an analysis of the role of the human element was made. Some elements of this analysis are: taking care of the employees, committing to them so they can commit to the organization; training, motivation and making them take part in the organizational goals, among others are inevitable elements. It is evident the lack of commitment that organizations have towards their workers, the need to conceive the human element as a fundamental aspect for efficient development of the organization is emphasized.
